The tutorials listed below are a collection we have created over the years for our conferences and classes. Some projects include features or patterns that may require a license before you can save and/or carve the project, but most features are available in demo mode for you to learn and play with. You may also substitute pattens to create your own project, but still follow the steps. Patterns, if not licensed or part of the free BASIC Library, may be downloaded for FREE from the store in the TRY mode as a learning tool.
SOME OF THESE TUTORIALS USE PATTERNS NOT FOUND IN THE BASIC LIBRARY – SOME OF THEM ARE FREE TO USE, SOME WILL NEED TO BE PURCHASED IN ORDER TO CARVE. THEY CAN ALL BE USED IN THE TRY MODE WITHOUT PURCHASE.
THE BASICS OF PROJECT DESIGNER

Pierced Carving Projects – This project shows how to use the pierced carving tool, clip carving & drill holes.

Carving Your Cutouts; No Cutting Bit Required – This technique demonstrated how to carve your project all the way out of the board with using only the carving bit. This technique is perfect for doing appliques and other pieces where a bit change isn’t needed.
Curved Box Side – This project reinforces previously learned features and adds the surface tool, attachments, and the merge features.

House Number Sign – This project adds instruction in using drawing tools, grids & snap to grid; adding constraints; using Centerline Text (sold separately) and Conforming Vectors (sold separately), copy & paste, flip & rotate, creating a closed regions & staying under the rollers.
Lighthouse Welcome Sign – This 2 part project introduces several tools such as merging, clip carving, Conforming Vectors (sold separately), and cut path. THIS PROJECT USES AN UNAVAILABLE PATTERN, BUT THERE ARE SIMILAR IN THE PATTERN DEPOT. SEARCH FOR “LIGHTHOUSE”
Fall Leaves – This project uses advanced software DXF Importer (sold separately), Centerline Text (sold separately), Conforming Vectors (sold separately), Vector Drawing Tools (sold separately) to create this project. Vector Drawing Tool is the only one that is not available in demo mode.
Martian Ray Gun Box Lid – Turn your Martian Ray Gun sign into a box lid by adding more features available in basic Project Designer software. Uses Offset Tool from Vector Drawing Tools (sold separately).
3D Horse Head Project – This project uses Pattern Editor (sold separately) and STL Importer (sold separately) to take a deep scan and carve it into a multi-layered 3D object.
